About this Project

Brent Civic Centre has gained two presigious awards. It is joint winner of the British Council for Offices Awards 2014: Corporate Work Place, London and the South East Region. It has also been acknowledged by the RIBA with a London 2014, National Award.

Located on a prominent site next to two well-known civic icons, Wembley Stadium’s iconic arch and Wembley Arena, the building boasts many interesting architectural features including a soaring, naturally-lit foyer and internal amphitheatre for arts and cultural performances.

As the most sustainable local authority building to be completed in the UK so far, it features a combination of solar shading, natural ventilation, high-performance façade, and combined cooling, heating and power system, which utilises waste fish oil. Designed Architectural Lighting supplied well over 2,000 Civic G210 surface mounted downlighters for the project, which has been awarded the coveted BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating.
