The Ancell Library
Consulting Engineer: WSP
The Foreign Office Library was formally founded in 1801, with the appointment of Richard Ancell as its first librarian, but its functions and collection go back much earlier. The historical library collection of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) comprises some 80,000 volumes of books, pamphlets, reports, typescripts and manuscript with a date range from the early 16th century to the present day. DAL were delighted work on this prestigious project and be part of its history.
