Located in the University of Warwick Campus, the National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) opened on 18 February 2020.
The NAIC’s main focus is on automotive research, combining expertise from industry, university academics and supply chain companies. The four-storey building also has an engineering hall, a virtual reality lab, design workshops, teaching facilities, offices, meeting rooms, library, outdoor car viewing garden, a publicly accessible showroom and café.
It is intended to support advances in technology to reduce dependency on fossil fuel and vehicle emissions.
About this Project
DAL supplied a package of standard and variant luminaires. Working with Arup lighting, the 'Civic 210' with high output LED was mounted on the timber beams with decrete, neat bespoke cast arms. DAL also made a special miniture linear extruded 'Coveline' with opal diffuser to softly graze and illuminate the architectural ceiling at night.
